Bianca Crvelin
General Manager
CPA, GAICD, JP

Bianca is a highly accomplished and seasoned Finance Professional, boasting an extensive and diverse career spanning over two decades within the financial services industry. Her professional journey began at PwC, in Audit, her career then led her to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), where she worked in property fund sectors. Bianca then journeyed into the SME sector working across various business types.

Bianca's dedication extends beyond her professional pursuits. She is a Rotarian, and understands the significance of giving back. One of her notable roles has been serving as a Non-executive Director on the Board of a non-profit organisation, where she held the position of Chair of the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee.

Bianca was also an elected Councillor for the Northern Beaches Council, where she is actively engaged in the Audit, Risk, and Investment Committee. Her contributions extend beyond identifying areas for improvement, as she is committed to finding innovative ways to enhance the financial position of the council, ultimately benefiting the community.

On a personal note, Bianca treasures her role as a wife and a mother to two boys. She places family and community at the forefront of her values, firmly believing that when communities come together, great things can be achieved. Bianca's dedication to both her family and her community makes her not only an outstanding Finance Professional but also a compassionate and impactful individual.

Amy Liang
Finance Manager
CPA

Amy is a CPA qualified accountant, who has honed her skills from different industries for more than 8 years. This has provided her with solid accounting experience. She fully understands the functions of MYOB, Xero and Astute, and is highly proficient in MS office software.

Amy is a passionate, detail-oriented and hard-working person with a can-do attitude. In Amy’s personal life, she loves to spend quality time with her dog and two cats.

Naomi Bright
Fundraising Coordinator

With a deep passion for building relationships and fostering meaningful partnerships, Naomi is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community and fundraising space. She works closely with individuals, corporates, and philanthropists to encourage the spirit of giving, creating connections that are both meaningful and mutually beneficial. Naomi believes that strong partnerships are the foundation of lasting change and is committed to ensuring that every collaboration contributes to a greater purpose.

Beyond her work, Naomi loves diving into the latest tech trends, enjoying board game nights with friends and family, and indulging in adorable hedgehog videos!

Jasmine Sumagaysay
Marketing Coordinator

A keen eye for detail and a passion for connecting with audiences is what helps Jasmine craft and execute the Foundation's marketing campaigns and activities. Stemming from a digital marketing background, her new-age approach gives the foundation a fresh breath of air with her skills and efforts that align with the Foundation's values and mission.

Outside the office, Jasmine hones her problem-solving skills with plenty of jigsaw puzzles and the occasional escape room with friends.

Carol O’Carroll
Gifts in Wills

With over 20 years in the not-for-profit section – mostly in the beautiful area of encouraging people to leave a gift in their Will. Carol has recently joined the Foundation to share this love of bequests with Westmead Hospital supporters and staff.

Outside of work, Carol enjoys catching up with friends and spending time with her son, Rory – usually over a meal.

James Nguyen
Board Chair
BComm(Finance)/Laws LLB, Principal, Park & Hills Lawyers, Member of the UNSW Alumni & Engagement Committe

James has had a career in law for over 20 years, first starting in private practice in firms like DLA Piper, Gilbert + Tobin and K&L Gates. He then moved in-house in 2010, working in banking at NAB and Rabobank as a Senior Legal Counsel. In 2017 he was appointed Head of Legal at TEG, a live entertainment group overlooking Ticketek. James was then appointed as General Councel at a fintech start-up whilst also being appointed Foundation Secretary. In 2021, he opened Park & Hills, a commercial law firm based out of Oran Park.  
 
A multi-award winning lawyer, James was a recipient of the 2014 UNSW Young Alumni of the Year Award, a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Sports & Entertainment Lawyer of the Year Award in 2019 and 2021, being listed on the In-house Leaders List of Australasian Lawyers Magazine in 2019 and 2021 and the Legal 500 GC Powerlist in 2019. 

Prof Jeremy Chapman
Board Member
MB BChir, MD, FRACMA (Hon), FRACP, FRCP, FAHMS

Professor Chapman trained in Cambridge and Oxford in London before moving to Sydney's Westmead Hospital and Sydney University in 1987 as consultant renal physician, then Director of Western Renal Services 1992 ‑ 2019. He has served on the Board of Western Sydney Local Health District as Deputy Chair, retiring in 2020.  
 
As past President of The Transplantation Society and World Marrow Donor Association, his interests include medical research, kidney, pancreas and bone marrow transplantation.  
 
He has been president of international professional societies and acted as an adviser to the World Health Organisation. He currently devotes time to Westmead Hospital through the Foundation and the Westmead Research Hub.  

Professor Chapman has been awarded the following honours:

Syed Ahmed
Board Member
MBA, MIS (Hons), BComm (BIS)

Combining a career spanning over 20 years with strong academic credentials, Syed has deep experience in synthesizing business outcomes through the technologies that enable them. He has worked across global corporate enterprises to early-stage start-ups, delivering innovative digital experiences as well as mission-critical enterprise IT systems.  
 
Syed holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Information Systems, a Master of Information Systems (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence, and an MBA from AGSM, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Innowell. He has previously worked across technology management, strategy and advisory roles across a range of organisations including RACV, Bupa, ThoughtWorks, Servcorp, Perpetual and Avanade. Furthermore, Syed advises early-stage tech start-ups, mentors start-up founders and helps as a judge in start-up competitions. He is a recognised conference speaker and contributes regularly to technology publications    

Caroline Farmer
Board Member
Adjunct A/Professor, UWS RN, Coronary Care Certificate, BHSc, MHSM, EMPA, Graduate Australian Institute of Company Directors 

Caroline (Carol) was appointed to the position of Western Sydney Local Health District’s Director of Nursing & Midwifery and Clinical Governance in 2019 and remained in position till 2022 Before this appointment, Carol was Director of Patient Safety at the Ministry of Health where she, with the Clinical Excellence Commission, ensured commitment to safety and quality across the health system. 
 
Carol is an experienced health care professional, having held senior management roles in the public health care sector in New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Carol also is an Australian Council Healthcare Standards Assessor and has interests in clinical governance, patient safety, leadership, and management. 

For her contribution to Health Services, Carol has been awarded the Public Service Medal in 2022.
 

Marc Burgo

Marc Burgo is an experienced business leader who has worked across banking and financial services, professional services and technology industries. He has served in regional leadership roles withinin strategy development, large-scale business and digital transformation programs across enterprise and hyper-growth companies, guiding teams across all geographies and cultures

Holding a degree in Bachelor of Science, majoring in Information Systems from the University of Sydney and Masters in Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, Marc is an accomplished pioneer in customer and employee experience, B2B account management and operations management. 

Marc has previously worked at Macquarie Bank, Deloitte and BT Financial Group, and is currently the Head of Enterprise Services, Asia Pacific & Japan at Qualtrics. 

Abdullah Ramay

CPA, PMP, MBA, GAICD, MPAcc, IBBA (Finance)

Abdullah is a purpose-driven leader and technology enthusiast, uniting business strategy, leadership, and innovation to create meaningful impact. As CEO of Pablo & Rusty's Coffee Roasters, he has championed sustainable solutions in the specialty coffee industry, leading the company to achieve B Corporation certification, Carbon Neutral Organisation status through Climate Active, membership in 1% for the Planet, and multiple awards for workplace excellence and positive impact.

As a CPA, PMP, MBA, and GAICD, Abdullah exemplifies professional excellence and a dedication to lifelong learning. His career spans diverse sectors where he has delivered value through strategic vision and servant leadership. Beyond his executive role, Abdullah actively engages in fundraising efforts for charitable organizations. Passionate about empowering others, he advises early-stage startups, mentors emerging leaders, and shares insights on technology, strategy, and leadership as a writer and speaker.

Tim Paciolla
Board Secretary
BA (Business and Finance) 

Tim Paciolla is the Chief Product Officer at Innowell responsible for driving the overall product strategy while leading the Product Management and Design teams. Tim is passionate about improving the delivery of mental health care by enabling clinicians to spend more time with their patients through the appropriate use of technology.

Tim is an accomplished leader with over 30 years experience in management and leadership positions at a diverse set of companies including Apple, Yahoo!, IBM, frog design and Atlassian.

With a broad set of interests, Tim has worked on programs ranging from distributed software build systems to large-scale data warehouses to consumer media websites to re-imagining the guest experience at Disney World to a new cybersecurity platform for the US Department of Defence.
