In May, a lawn mower will take on one of Australia’s most ambitious fundraising journeys — travelling straight down the centre of the country from Darwin to Port Augusta. This incredible challenge was inspired by Brent Twaddle's lived experience with Von Willebrand Disease (VWD), a bleeding disorder that affects multiple generations of one family and countless others worldwide.
Funds raised through Straight Down the Centre will support critical research at Westmead Hospital, helping clinicians and researchers better understand, treat, and improve outcomes for people living with VWD.
Every kilometre driven represents hope — and every donation brings us closer to safer pregnancies, better treatments, and stronger futures for families affected by bleeding disorders like Brent and his daughter, Megan.
