Help revolutionise Neurology at Westmead Hospital

Epilepsy is the second most common neurological condition, yet its consequences are often overlooked. The weight of this condition is akin to the burden of breast cancer in women and lung cancer in men. The individuals living with epilepsy, as well as their families, endure daily challenges and uncertainties that are immeasurable.

We are thrilled to share with you a groundbreaking advancement in the treatment of epilepsy that has the potential to change lives right here in our community. This revolutionary procedure, which requires just one stitch and a single night in the hospital, is a beacon of hope for those who have found little relief through traditional medical therapy.

The procedure utilizes state-of-the-art technology with a mobile cart design that can be transported to where it is needed most. A tiny 1.65mm diameter catheter is employed to precisely place a laser under the guidance of MRI technology, facilitating laser ablation to bring relief and hope to those living with epilepsy. Notably, this groundbreaking machine is the first of its kind in New South Wales, a testament to the significance of our community's support.

Your generous contribution will directly fund the provision of this cutting-edge treatment to individuals and families grappling with the challenges of epilepsy, offering them the possibility of a brighter, seizure-free future.

To support the work we do at Westmead Hospital we ask you to please give generously to Westmead Hospital's Neurology department this festive season.

Thank you for your support.
