Fresh new look for adolescent patients

Thanks to the generous support of Castle Hill RSL Group (CHRG), Westmead Hospital Foundation has helped bring new life to the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (AYAM) unit at Westmead Hospital.

Creating a Brighter Space for Young Patients at Westmead Hospital

The revamped unit now offers a warm, welcoming space tailored to the needs of young people aged 14–24, many of whom face long or repeated stays in hospital.

Modern furnishings, thoughtful design elements, and plenty of activities have helped create an environment that feels safe, age-appropriate and supportive of both emotional and physical wellbeing.

Thank you to our supporters

The AYAM team delivers specialist care to adolescents who often fall between children’s and adult services. With this upgrade, young patients now have a space that better reflects who they are—and supports their recovery in a more positive, comfortable way.

This project was made possible by CHRG’s community-focused philanthropy, and it’s a powerful reminder of the impact that giving can have on real people, every day.
