Donate to the Heart Research Engineering Team at Westmead Hospital
Support the team at Westmead's Cardiology Research Workshop in finding solutions for the treatment of heart disease by using innovative approaches to treat high blood pressure and heart rhythm problems
Heart disease was the underlying cause of 25% of deaths in 2021 in Australia
6.2% of adults (1.2 million) has 1 or more conditions related to heart, stroke, or vascular disease in 2017-2018
Donations will go towards engineering research into heart disease treatments
Microwave Catheters
Lesiologic
Lesiologic is a safe tool that helps doctors during removal procedures. It tracks changes in heart tissue without invasive techniques, ensuring patients receive safe and effective treatment.
Cardiac Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy
A non-invasive treatment for heart rhythm problems using X-rays. A unique collaboration between cardiologists and oncologists.

Meet the team
The Cardiology Research Workshop is an inclusive, culturally diverse and rapidly growing group with extensve collaborations nationally and internationally.
The team compromises of 4 postdoctoral researchers, 2 engineering technical officers, more than 10 research students (PhD, Masters, Honours, MD, from 3 universities), and a number of junior doctors working on projects at the boundary of engineering and medicine solving clinically important problems that will benefit the lives of heart disease patients.
