A Remarkable Achievement
Ebony’s compassion, creativity and unwavering commitment stand out. Over 1,500 babies and their families pass through our NICU every year; Ebony supports each of them not only through her clinical role but also by creating a warm, welcoming environment where families feel reassured, connected and supported.
Her initiatives — such as a NICU read-a-thon and bringing in decorations, books and prizes to make the unit feel more like home — have made a meaningful difference.
Thanks to the overwhelming support from the community, Ebony's win brings a significant benefit to our Foundation: a $20,000 grant has been awarded to the Westmead Hospital Foundation to further support NICU families.
These funds will enable us to expand and enhance the environment and experiences for families during a challenging and emotional time.

She also offered heartfelt advice to those considering neonatal nursing:
“Your patient is not just the baby but the whole family. Be prepared for tears, laughter – and the occasional mishap, like being weed on by a baby!”
